This book was called 9 Steps to Life-Long Happiness when I read it, so I picked it up with some scepticism, though glancing at the bullet-points made it clear how effective it might be. I read it and it made a difference to how happy I felt and how efficient I am at being happy. Points 1, 3 and 6 particularly appeal to me, (http://www.choosetobehappy.com/explore/index.html) and you'll find your own favourites, while the points feed in to each other in a cycle.
